Spring is in the air, and there’s no better way to celebrate the season than with one of Clintonville’s most beloved traditions — Duckling Day! Hosted by the Columbus Metropolitan Library – Whetstone Branch, this heartwarming community event is a must for families looking to welcome the season with smiles, crafts, and (of course) adorable baby ducklings.
📅 Date: Saturday, April 26, 2025 🕥 Time: 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM 📍 Location: Whetstone Branch Library, 3909 N High St, Columbus, OH 43214
What to Expect:
🦆 Meet the Ducklings: Get up close with real ducklings and learn all about their journey from fuzzy hatchlings to charming waddlers. It’s a magical experience for kids — and grown-ups too!
📚 Duck-Themed Storytime: Librarians will host spring-inspired story sessions that are perfect for young listeners who love a good tale.
🎨 Spring Crafts: Let your child’s creativity soar with duckling-inspired crafts they can take home. Expect feathers, color, and lots of spring sparkle!
📸 Photo Fun: Capture sweet family memories with festive spring-themed backdrops. Don’t forget to bring your camera or phone!
Helpful Tips for a Smooth Day:
Come early! Ducklings are popular, and the earlier you arrive, the better your chance to see them up close.
Parking plan. The Whetstone parking lot fills quickly due to soccer games and event crowds. Consider parking across the street in the neighborhood and walking over.
Dress the part. The library offers brown bags you can turn into duckling costumes. Stop by before Saturday to pick one up!
Expect a lively crowd. This is a family favorite, so there will be plenty of kids (and parents chasing after them!).
Bonus Fun: After Duckling Day, stroll down to the opening day of the Clintonville Farmers Market — another great way to celebrate the season!
Don’t miss this delightful springtime event that brings our Clintonville community together in the sweetest way. Tell your neighbors, invite your friends, and we’ll see you — and the ducklings — there!
